Traditionally, hammocks are made from cotton rope or polyester rope and both the types are quite popular. Rope hammocks are the most traditional and are most popular as well. Rope hammocks are generally constructed in polyester or cotton yarn. Generally it is found that the rope in cotton hammocks stretch and contour the body and hence is more comfortable compared to polyester rope hammocks. On the other hand, the polyester hammocks can endure higher humidity, UV rays and salt water but are not as flexible as the cotton rope hammocks. For areas experience cool climate, the quilted hammocks can make a comfortable choice. Contrary to the rope hammock, there are two layers of fabrics in the quilted hammocks and the layers are separated with fiber-filler. |
